~Jay Santana~

CrossFit Level I Certified Trainer

Air Force Physical Training Leader 101

Jay proudly serves in the United States Air Force as an Emergency Medical Technician-B, currently stationed at Landstuhl, Germany. Born and raised in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, he was involved in the sport of basketball for most of his teenage years, until an ankle injury put him on the bench. Trying to stay "fit", Jay found a nearby gym where he first learned to do "21's" every other day. And that routine remained the same until January 10, 2009 when he walked through the doors of Crossfit Ramstein and met some people that would inspire him to not only do Crossfit, but also to live it.

Not even ten days had passed since Jay drank the Kool-Aid, and had a horrendous experience with "Elizabeth", when the first ever Level 1 Certification in CrossFit Ramstein was announced. With very little hesitation, he signed up for the life-changing experience that would take place in June 2009. Ever since then, Jay has tried to absorb every piece of information from all of the Crossfit Ramstein trainers to become a better Crossfitter, but even more so to be able to pass the knowledge forward to his fellow Crossfitters. He looks forward to every day's new challenges, even more when it is in the form of a WOD.
