About PJ:
CrossFit Level I Certified Trainer
Registered Dietitian
PJ serves the Air Force Medical Corps as the Nutrition Program Manager at the Ramstein Health And Wellness Center–where he conducts classes, counseling, and other programs for the prevention and treatment of disease and improving performance.
In addition to his nutrition-related HAWC activities, PJ works closely with Ramstein Physical Therapy in the delivery of Total Fit PTL training. Which incorporates elements of CrossFit methodology with injury prevention techniques in order to teach Air Force PTLs how to lead safer, more effective group training sessions.
Throughout life, PJ dipped his feet in the waters of nearly every mainstream sport. He invested greatest interest in Wrestling and Lacrosse through Highschool and College and more recently has taken his chances in the boxing ring.
PJs enduring passion for challenge, improvement, and self-induced-torture-related-post-workout-euphoria fatefully led him to the doorstep of CrossFit Ramstein in Fall of 2008. He hasn’t done a bicep curl since.
Random Ramblings and Beliefs:
I’m a scientist by nature and the human body is the ultimate experiment laboratory. We are our own test tubes.
It is key to take steps to balance all aspects of health [including sleep and stress management, lifestyle, success, and happiness in addition to nutrition and exercise] while we seek greater fitness and performance. Our ability to positively impact these factors will stand alone as testament to our effectiveness.
There is no single expert out there who knows everything about every process in the body—especially me. If someone claims that they do, run! The human body is just too complex and perfecting the application of exercise and nutrition are long-term endeavors. The best we can do is learn everything we can, sort the good information from the bad, try, measure, and adapt based on our results. Tinkering and paying attention are essential to finding what works for you.
